At Carronhill School, our school lunches are made on site by our on site cook following the Council's Nutritionist's advice and recommendations.
Menus are available from Primary school menu and translations - Aberdeenshire Council. All pupils at the school are served the same Primary Menu. Pupils at Carronhill Special school all receive a Free Meal.
The Aberdeenshire school menus reflect National recommendations for changes to diet that include:
Increased emphasis on fruit and vegetables
Reduction in total fat and saturated fat
Reduction in sugar and sugar based items
Inclusion of oily fish
Reduction in salt content

Special Diets
The School is instructed by our Council Nutritionist if pupils require a specialist diet for cultural, religious, medical or life choices. A request for a special menu can be made by following Special diets at school - Aberdeenshire Council
Although payment is not required for any meals the My Aberdeenshire link allows parents to see what their child is eating at school by following schoool meals.
We know how difficult it can be to have children with complex needs try a variety of foods. At Carronhill we offer a snack service where we do all the ordering for a small daily fee (paid termly). We will of course order food that your child likes but becasue we order for almost all we can also give them tasters of things that may be too expensive to buy at home if they don't like it. Our snack fund also allows us to cater to our pupils individual life skills learning by having them prepare, eat and even tidy up their snack and utensils afterwards.
